Our History

Selective Corporate Internship Program (SCIP), is a 501 (c ) (3) non-profit, tax exempt organization was founded in 1997 by Monica and Miguel Mancebo to provide intensive, business environment training to talented inner city high school students from New York City and New Jersey. This intensive, six-week program incorporated training, professional development to a diverse group of highly motivated and goal oriented public high schools students with an interest in becoming business leaders and entrepreneurs.

For six weeks the interns are submersed into the corporate world, equipped with all of the tools necessary for success. During this time, the interns meet with corporate executives from leading companies, sharpen their technical and writing skills, as well as learn about business etiquette. The interns are able to experience the depth and rigor of the business world by attending corporate site visits. SCIP offers an inside look into corporate America that is extremely rare to come by, these students walk away with life long friends, lessons and the tools necessary to reach the stars.

SCIP is the brainchild of the Mancebos and was established to provide a growth module for students in the public school system and provide access to the "movers and shakers" in the corporate arena and also provide a wide range of future options. As part of their on-going community-oriented endeavors, the Mancebos wanted to give these students, who would not be able to connect to these leaders on their own, direct access to corporate professionals and business owners who could share their experiences and insights.

Our Vision

SCIP Interns are exposed to all aspects of the business community and have numerous opportunities to learn via "hands on" interaction with their mentor in a variety of areas including finance, marketing, sales, management and communications. With the support of Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders, they are coached in professional writing, presentation skills, office procedures and business etiquette. This invaluable experience is well ahead of any existing mentoring program and we continue to build on the program offerings.

SCIP is the philanthropic arm of McClure Management Group LLC. McClure Management is the first and largest full service, minority-women owned career management and outplacement firm providing a wide range of services to its corporate clientele ranging executive coaching to diversity training.
